Presented on: Wednesday, May 20, 2020
Presented by: Mark McDavid, OTR/L, RAC-CT, CHC
The world of therapy is changing under PDPM. Immediately following the implementation of PDPM, we saw massive layoffs across the industry, resulting in fewer individual treatment minutes and possibly fewer minutes of therapy overall to most Part A patients. As a SNF, you should understand what is happening in your facility related to therapy and what steps your contractor has taken to decrease minutes of therapy provided.
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Understand how contractors are currently managing therapy in your facility and how to best use your therapists.
- Discuss how therapists/contractors are determining the volume of therapy delivered to a given patient.
- Understand current practice patterns in light of PDPM.
- Discuss which sections of the MDS therapy should be involved with and why.
Agenda
- Review how therapy is managed in your facility
- How volume is determined
- Current therapy best practices under PDPM
- How much group/concurrent should we be doing?
Who Should Listen?
- MDS coordinator
- SNF Administrator
- SNF business office manager
- SNF owner
