LTC facilities are experiencing a plethora of uncertainties as COVID-19 spreads throughout the U.S. As LTC residents are at high-risk for complications stemming from the virus, staff and residents must combat the anxieties that stem from this disease.

During this 60-minute live and on-demand webinar, Eleanor Feldman Barbera, PhD, will discuss anxieties surrounding the spread of COVID-19. Barbera will discuss methods to reduce resident anxiety, allowing direct care staff more time to focus on physical needs, as well as provide coping strategies to combat stress amongst staff, residents, and families. The presentation will be followed by a live Q&A.

Eleanor Feldman BarberaEleanor Feldman Barbera, PhD, author of The Savvy Resident’s Guide and an LTC News column, “The World According to Dr. El,” is a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience in long-term care. She is a keynote speaker on subjects related to psychology, aging and caregiving. Dr. Barbera consults with organizations, institutions and individuals on mental health and eldercare issues. In addition to working in direct care, she helps others use psychological insights to build teams and create relationships that lead to thriving people and facilities.
