Presented by: Malissa Powers, BS, RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CICA

Government and private payers frequently update guidance and regulations to seemingly come up with new reasons to deny ICD-10-CM/PCS claims, which in turn affects MS-DRG assignment. In this one-hour webinar, Malissa Powers, BS, RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CICA, will cover these ICD-10-CM/PCS and MS-DRG coding denials while shining a light on the clinical validation components of these rejections. The webinar will help distinguish coding denials from clinical validation denials and review common trends in payer rejections. Through coding practice examples, this session will heighten inpatient coders’ awareness of these denials and help facilities develop a comprehensive appeal strategy.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Distinguish inpatient coding denials from clinical validation denials
