Presented by: Stephanie Moore, CPC, CPMA

Outpatient documentation and coding for behavioral health brings a set of unique challenges. Clinicians must accurately document start and stop times and detail the patient’s symptoms, psychiatric history, and response to treatment. Coders must interpret these clinical details and adhere to complex CPT® guidelines and Medicare billing restrictions for reporting these services.

Join expert speaker Stephanie Moore, CPC, CPMA, for this 90-minute on-demand webinar during which she will provide an in-depth review of CPT coding for behavioral health. Specifically, she will review CPT coding for office visits, psychiatric diagnostic procedures, psychotherapy, interactive complexity, and prolonged E/M services. She will also provide a brief overview of ICD-10-CM coding for commonly reported behavioral health conditions. The final portion of the presentation will focus on Medicare billing requirements for telemedicine services administered during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency (PHE).

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Interpret documentation and CPT reporting guidelines for psychiatric services provided by mental health professionals
  • Select the most specific CPT and ICD-10-CM codes for behavioral health encounters
  • Adhere to Medicare billing and reporting requirements as they relate to telemedicine during the PHE
