Presented on: Thursday, June 22, 2023 | 1:00–2:00 p.m. Eastern

Presented by: Kimberly Cunningham, CCS, CPC, CCDS-O

The COVID-19 pandemic has helped shed light on the importance of identifying and addressing social determinants of health (SDoH) such as homelessness and food insecurity, which adversely impact vulnerable populations. In an effort to reduce health disparities, CMS and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have emphasized the importance of capturing these factors in clinical documentation and leveraging billing data to identify healthcare gaps.

Join expert Kimberly Cunningham, CCS, CPC, CCDS-O, for this 60-minute webinar as she discusses clinical documentation and ICD-10-CM coding for SDoH. Cunningham will review the social and financial impact of capturing SDoH, as well as their impact on quality programs, and describe how these factors are reported in ICD-10-CM. She will also outline considerations for documentation review and describe CMS initiatives aimed at increasing SDoH screening. The presentation will be followed by a live Q&A.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
