The COVID-19 pandemic has helped shed light on the importance of identifying and addressing social determinants of health (SDoH) such as homelessness and food insecurity, which adversely impact vulnerable populations. In an effort to reduce health disparities, CMS and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have emphasized the importance of capturing these factors in clinical documentation and leveraging billing data to identify healthcare gaps.
Join expert Kimberly Cunningham, CCS, CPC, CCDS-O, for this 60-minute webinar as she discusses clinical documentation and ICD-10-CM coding for SDoH. Meet the Speaker
Kimberly Cunningham, CCS, CPC, CCDS-O, is an instructor for HCPro’s Certified Coder Boot Camp® programs. She has extensive experience with education, auditing, and management, and has worked to implement processes, policies, and curricula in her various roles. Prior to joining HCPro, she worked for an industry-leading university health system as a coding compliance manager, where her duties included education for providers, coders, and clinical documentation integrity specialists. Cunningham has also worked as an auditor on behalf of CMS and the Department of Health and Human Services.
