Coding for Ophthalmological Procedures

Overview

This course discusses how to identify segments of the eye, as well as how to assign CPT codes for cataract extractions, procedures to treat and prevent retinal detachments, strabismus surgery, and procedures from the Medicine section of CPT involving the eye.

At the completion of this module the participant will be able to:

• Identify the segments of the eye
• Assign CPT codes for cataract extractions
• Assign CPT codes for procedures to treat and prevent retinal detachments
• Assign CPT codes for strabismus surgery
• Assign CPT codes for ophthalmological procedures in the 90000 section of CPT
