CDI Specialist’s Training Guide, Third Edition
CDI Boot Camp Instructor Dawn Valdez brings a fresh perspective to the latest edition of the CDI Specialist’s Training Guide, building on the foundation ACDIS Interim Director Laurie Prescott created in the first two editions. The training guide aims to teach new CDI specialists key concepts in an easy-to-digest format. Chapters consist of detailed definitions, summaries of common CDI processes, real-life examples, tips for performing CDI tasks, and questions new CDI specialists should ask mentors or managers. The guide also contains a link to online exercises so that readers can test their knowledge at the conclusion of each chapter.
Topics covered in the training guide include:
- Coding and reimbursement
- Queries
- Clinical indicators
- Quality measures
- CDI metrics (and so much more!)
The CDI Specialist’s Training Guide is intended to foster relationships among new CDI specialists, program managers, and educators as they work together during onboarding and orientation. Designed to be both an introduction to the profession as well as a reference for veteran CDI specialists looking to brush up on the basics, this guide is the perfect resource for any CDI program.
