Available ON-DEMAND
Presented on: Tuesday, May 30, 2023
Presented by: Linda Martien, CPC, CPC-I, COC, CPMA, CRC
Wound care is an infamously complex specialty for billing and coding professionals. They must scour documentation for information regarding size, depth, severity, physicality, dressings, packing, type of debridement, and other elements to ensure correct ICD-10-CM and CPT® code assignment. Reporting is further complicated by Medicare billing edits and the ever-expanding list of treatment methods and products.
During this 60-minute webinar, Linda Martien, CPC, CPC-I, COC, CPMA, CRC, will teach the ABCDs of chronic wound care—auditing, billing, coding, and documentation. She will review the pathophysiology of wounds and the healing process, cover wound classifications and treatment methodologies, and address the latest 2023 CPT and ICD-10-CM coding guidelines applicable to wound care services. The presentation will be followed by a live Q&A.
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Describe the differences between acute and chronic wounds
- Compare wound care methodologies
- Differentiate between standard and advanced therapies
- Explain relevant coding and billing guidelines
