Presented by: Kimberly A. Hoy, JD, CPC and Camille Ruiz

Each year CMS issues an OPPS proposed rule that details the proposed changes to Medicare outpatient coding and billing. Feedback on the proposed rule is due within 60 days of its release, and changes set forth in the subsequent final rule must be implemented by January 1. Be prepared to implement this year’s changes and be ready to comment to CMS by attending this webinar.

During this program, expert speakers Kimberly A. Hoy, JD, CPC, and Camille Ruiz will analyze the proposed rule’s major policy updates, including changes to the inpatient-only list, new procedures within the prior authorization program, and the fallout of the Supreme Court’s ruling against CMS regarding 340B drug discount program payments. Hoy and Ruiz will also cover CMS’ proposals for its Rural Emergency Hospital designation and participate in a live Q&A for attendees.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Explain significant CMS proposals regarding outpatient hospital services for 2023
  • Identify key proposals from the Medicare physician fee schedule proposed rule that affect outpatient hospital services
  • Determine procedures requiring prior authorization for 2023
