Safian, PhD, RHIA, HCISPP, CCS-P, AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer, is president of Safian Communications Services in Orlando and teaches health informatics at Colorado State University Global Campus in Maryland. She was previously named Outstanding HIM Professional of the Year by the Florida Health Information Management Association (FHIMA).
