Judi Blaszczyk, RN, CPC, ACS-PM

Level of Program:

During this 60-minute webcast, expert speaker Judi Blaszczyk, RN, CPC, ACS-PM, will walk you through the updates to guidelines and codes for intravascular cardiac monitoring procedures. Most services related to anesthesia are included in the anesthesia code, but anesthesia providers can receive additional payment when they insert cardiovascular monitoring lines. In 2019, new guidelines and codes will go into effect for several of these procedures. Anesthesia practices that aren’t up to date could lose much-needed revenue. Join us at the end of the webcast for an educational Q&A session!

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Implement the new guidance for central venous access procedures and peripherally inserted central catheters to prevent documentation, coding, and reimbursement slip-ups
  • Understand how to report the new peripherally inserted central catheter codes, including when to use modifier -52 (reduced service)
  • Understand other invasive lines that anesthesia providers regularly insert, including arterial catheters and Swan-Ganz catheters

  • New guidance for central venous access procedures
  • New guidance for peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines)
  • New codes for PICC lines
  • Revised codes for PICC lines
  • Coding guidelines for other cardiac monitoring services
  • Live Q&A

Who Should Listen?

  • Anesthesia coders
  • Anesthesia billers
  • Anesthesia compliance officers
