Meet the Speaker
Penny Jefferson, MSN, RN, CCDS, CCS, CDIP, CRC, CHDA, CRCR, CCDS-O, CPHQ, ACPA-C, entered the world of healthcare 34 year ago as a medic in the United States Army. Jefferson has performed a variety of roles over the course of her career, including 14 years as a critical care nurse, and 13 years as a CDI specialist. In 2019, she accepted a position at Mayo clinic as a concurrent CDI reviewer, and then progressed to the position of supervisor. In December 2022, Jefferson accepted her current position at UC Davis Health where she works as a CDI manager.
