Presented on: Wednesday, September 11, 2019 | 1:00–2:00 p.m. Eastern

Presented by: Adrienne Commeree, CPC, CPMA, CCS, CEMC, CPIP, regulatory specialist teaching the Certified Coder Boot Camp® programs for HCPro, a Simplify Compliance brand.

The imminent 2020 IPPS final rule will include significant changes to hospital payment rates, ICD-10-PCS codes, and Medicare Severity Diagnosis-Related Group (MS-DRG) designations.

Before the changes go into effect on October 1, coders will need to learn new ICD-10-PCS tables and incorporate new characters in existing tables to ensure that documentation is complete and that claims accurately reflect services rendered. Along with the changes to MS-DRGs, this hour-long program will delve into the various ICD-10-PCS code changes, including new codes for low dose rate brachytherapy, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for cardiopulmonary support, and endovascular arteriovenous fistula creation. It will also cover new technology and terminology introduced to ICD-10-PCS.

During this 60-minute program, expert speaker Adrienne Commeree, CPC, CPMA, CCS, CEMC, CPIP, will help you sift through the changes to various MS-DRG classifications and pinpoint changes of note for your facility, review the new and revised code descriptions for the 2020 ICD-10-PCS code set, determine potential areas of documentation improvement for new and revised codes, and answer specific questions during a live Q&A.
