Ischemic heart disease is a complex term for heart problems caused by the narrowing of coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. Inpatient coders and CDI professionals need to pay attention to the definition of acute ischemic syndrome and associated clinical indicators when reporting or reviewing for related diagnoses.

During this 90-minute webinar, Alba Kuqi, MD, CICA, CCS, CDIP, CCDS, CRCR, CSMC, will explain myocardial anatomy and review ICD-10-CM coding challenges and requirements associated with ischemic heart disease, including myocardial infarction and stable angina. Kuqi will provide coders with the details they need to decipher provider documentation and code in ICD-10-CM while complying with Medicare rules and regulations. The presentation will conclude with a live Q&A during which attendees can submit questions.
