Presented by: Sharon Harder, president of C3 Advisors in Wheaton, Illinois

Medicare auditors are targeting homebound status as agencies struggle to successfully document and defend this key qualification for home health services. It’s also an important part of pre-claim review documentation in Review Choice Demonstration states.

Sign up for this webinar to get the latest guidance from one of the industry’s top compliance advisors. Learn how to construct a rationale for the patient’s homebound status that meets Medicare’s two-tier test and becomes part of the physician’s record.

After this session, you’ll have the tools to avoid documentation traps that can inadvertently defeat continuing homebound status. You’ll also learn how to argue in favor of payment when a denial is related to lack of continuing homebound status.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Construct a rationale for a patient’s homebound status
  • Educate staff and referral partners on homebound status requirements
  • Build documentation around homebound status they can defend under Review Choice
  • Demonstration pre-claim review and audit scrutiny

  • Overcoming challenges in determining homebound status
  • Avoiding documentation traps around homebound status
  • Responding quickly and successfully to denials related to homebound status
  • Q&A
