Presented by: Jennifer Searfoss, Founder and CEO, SCG Health.

If you have a HIPAA incident such as a security breach, you’ll have the feds and maybe even state attorneys crawling all over your practice and you may be liable for big fines. As a covered entity, you are required to perform basic due diligence – such as adhering to current policies and procedures and performing a security risk assessment -- to be compliant with federal HIPAA law and regulation. It’s not an impossible task – but it must be done right.

This 60-minute webinar, led by expert speaker Jennifer Searfoss, will cover everything you need to know to stay compliant with the federal HIPAA law and regulations.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Create or obtain materials (such as business associate contracts and privacy notices) that are in compliance with HIPAA
  • Create a process that will keep the practice updated in compliance
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to a HIPAA incident (e.g. breach)
  • Respond appropriately to a government HIPAA audit or investigation

  • What are your responsibilities under HIPAA law and regulation?
  • How can you get in trouble if you’re not compliant?
  • What do you have to do to be in compliance?
  • What do you have to have to be in compliance?
  • What do you have to be prepared to do if you have a HIPAA incident?
  • What process should you put in place in order to stay compliant?

  • HIPAA Checklist
