Presented by: Mary McGoldrick, Home Care and Hospice Consultant, MS, RN, CRNI
Robert Markette, attorney, CHC, HCS-C

CMS has started to survey home health agencies as part of its targeted infection control surveys. To avoid fines for violating procedures, agencies need to know what information surveyors are collecting.

This 60-minute webinar features two expert speakers. Home care and hospice consultant Mary McGoldrick will provide an overview of infection control practices for agencies to follow, including tips for updating infection control policies in light of COVID-19 and optimizing usage of limited PPE.

Attorney Robert Markette will provide an overview of how to update your infection control and emergency management policies to prepare for your next survey. For example, agencies can get cited for missed visits under G572 per 484.60(a)(1). This is an issue that can be intensified with the coronavirus and missed visits.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how to prepare for their next targeted infection control survey
  • Identify ways to revise infection control policies
  • Prevent CMS survey citations and avoid fines

  • Lessons learned from targeted infection control surveys
  • Tips for updating infection control policies in light of COVID-19
  • Updates on face mask guidelines and handwashing policies
  • How to optimize usage of limited PPE
  • Rundown of key documents being requested in surveys
  • Strategies for updating emergency management plans

Who Should Listen?

  • Home health administrators
  • Clinical managers
  • Compliance officers
  • Directors of nursing
  • Quality managers
  • Clinicians
  • RNs
