The final payment rule for SNFs is here. Under the Patient-Driven Payment Model (PDPM), SNFs can expect greater reimbursement for residents with more clinical complexity, higher acuity, and multiple comorbidities. It will be critical for facilities to understand SNF consolidated billing to properly anticipate the projected revenue and costs of care with the advent of this new model.

During this 60-minute webinar, expert speaker Stefanie Corbett, DHA, will discuss the basis for reimbursement under the PDPM. Listeners will also have an opportunity to submit questions throughout the program so Corbett can provide feedback during the Q&A session.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Determine the purpose and goals of the PDPM
  • Determine how the new reimbursement rates will be assigned
  • Implement best practices for preadmission screenings and MDS accuracy
  • Determine how to appropriately apply consolidated billing requirements when projecting revenue and expenses

  • Know how to identify the different factors that impact reimbursement and how rates will be assigned—therapy utilization will no longer be the primary factor in determining reimbursement
  • Project resident expenses associated with care by utilizing the calculation worksheet, completing thorough resident assessments, and properly applying the requirements of consolidated billing
  • Ensure properly assigned reimbursement rates through preadmission screenings and MDS assessment accuracy
  • Prepare for the transition from RUG-IV to PDPM: staff education and training; revision of policies, procedures, and daily operations; and technology updates
  • Live Q&A

  • PDPM calculation worksheet
  • Admissions checklist
