Presented by: Judith L. Kares, Esq.

The fiscal year (FY) 2022 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) proposed rule offered hospitals breathing room to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic but included major changes to CC/MCC classifications and MS-DRG rate setting. Most IPPS provisions go into effect October 1, so organizations need to understand the details to implement changes quickly and compliantly.

During this 90-minute session with live Q&A, expert speaker Judith L. Kares, Esq., will describe the most significant changes identified in the FY 2022 IPPS final rule, including updated reimbursement information, reporting measures, new technologies, operating and capital rates, and changes to quality and interoperability programs. She will discuss an initial assessment of the rule’s financial impact and share tips for protecting compliant revenue.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Describe key changes under the FY 2022 IPPS final rule and compare them to prior existing requirements
  • Identify strategies to implement FY 2022 IPPS requirements
  • Analyze the effect of the ongoing public health emergency and related waivers and interim final rules on FY 2022 IPPS payment

    • Advance implementation of new technologies
    • Meet the unique challenges of rural health
    • Promote cost efficiency through meaningful quality measures
  • MS-DRG and CC/MCC updates
    • Understanding changes to CC/MCC classifications
