Presented on: Thursday, October 26, 2023 | 1:00–2:00 p.m. Eastern

Presented by: Lori-Lynne A. Webb, CPC, CCS-P, CCP, CHDA, CDIP, COBGC

Cesarean deliveries have a long history, and while medical advancements have significantly decreased risk, the practice still comes with complications and can be difficult for coders to report. Vaginal births after cesarean (VBAC)—especially failed ones—come with additional complexities and clinical documentation requirements that coders should be aware of to report them correctly.

During this 60-minute webinar, Lori-Lynne A. Webb, CPC, CCS-P, CCP, CHDA, CDIP, COBGC, will review outpatient coding for VBAC deliveries. She will provide an overview of relevant ICD-10-CM and CPT® codes and guidelines, define successful and failed VBAC, cover ancillary procedures, and tackle common clinical documentation issues coders may encounter. Webb will also host a live Q&A at the end of the webinar to address specific coding questions.

Walk away from this webinar ready to:

  • Describe the VBAC process as an OB/GYN delivery option
  • Explain clinical documentation requirements for VBAC
  • Distinguish between coding requirements for successful and failed vaginal delivery after previous cesarean
