Have you felt frustrated by a lack of consensus diagnostic criteria and limited interdepartmental collaboration in your organization? Have you recognized your organization’s need for clinical definitions, but don’t know where to begin? If you answered yes to these questions, this webinar is for you!

CDI programs often struggle with physician use of competing clinical definitions, confusion within the clinical community regarding diagnostic criteria, and identifying clinical indicators that are most relevant for effective query efforts. Developing uniform diagnostic criteria—and incorporating clinician voices, CDI priorities, and coding nuances along the way—not only helps with the process of documentation clarity but can aid in front-end denials management as well.

Join Jera Van Damme, RN, CCDS, CCS, senior CDI educator for Essentia Health, on this 60-minute informative webinar for a look at how the CDI program partnered with key stakeholders to develop clinical definitions for commonly queried diagnoses, as well as the specific clinical criteria the program used.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the collaborative process Essentia Health used to develop system clinical definitions
  • Describe factors to consider when selecting a clinical definition for development
  • Identify benefits and challenges related to developing system clinical definitions
