As of January 1, the rules around how you get paid under PDGM have changed. Understanding these changes can help you target coding and OASIS training to ensure continued accuracy and rightful payments in the new year.

CMS finalized changes to case-mix methodology in the final 2022 home health payment rule. Changes include updates to the subgroup interactions that could result in a high comorbidity adjustment, the addition of subgroups that could lead to low comorbidity adjustments, and changes to functional impairment levels.

In this 60-minute webinar, coding and billing expert Brandi Whitemyer will give an in-depth review of these changes, including the 56 new subgroup interactions that could lead to a high comorbidity adjustment.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how case-mix methodology has changed in 2022
  • Identify which subgroups now qualify for high and low comorbidity adjustments
  • Describe how functional impairment scores contribute to determining case-mix points

  • CMS changes to case-mix methodology in 2022
  • How coding and OASIS impact payments in 2022
  • The biggest drivers of high vs. low comorbidity adjustments and where to find the lists
