HCPro Boot Camp Instructor

Dr. Jillian Harrington, MHA, CPC, CPC-I, CPC-P, CCS, CCS-P, CEMC, MHP, is a regulatory specialist for HCPro. Jill serves as an instructor for the Certified Coder Boot Camp®-Original (live and online), the Certified Coder Boot Camp® Inpatient, the Medicare Boot Camp® Hospital Version and the Medicare Boot Camp® Physician Services Version. She also co-developed the Codercise® CPT Operative Report.

Dr. Harrington has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare profession. She is an approved instructor of the Professional Medical Coding Curriculum, awarded by the American Academy of Professional Coders, and teaches coding for physician and hospital services, as well as healthcare administration. She has spoken frequently on healthcare compliance and health information management issues at regional and national professional conferences.

Prior to joining HCPro, Dr. Harrington taught health services administration to undergraduate and graduate students at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA. She was also previously a Clinical Technical Editor for Optum, writing and editing their many coding and compliance publications, and is a former chief compliance officer and chief privacy official of a large academic medical center. She has extensive background in auditing both the professional and outpatient/inpatient facility components of CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-CM & PCS coding.

Dr. Harrington holds a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration from SUNY Empire State College, a master's degree in health systems administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and a Doctorate in Leadership from Creighton University. She is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), a former member of their National Advisory Board and former President of the Southern Tier of New York and Syracuse Local Chapters, a member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), and an associate of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
