Presented on: Thursday, July 27, 2023 | 1:00–2:00 p.m. Eastern
Presented by: Stacie L. Buck, RHIA, CCS-P, RCC, RCCIR, CIRCC
Angiography is a notoriously complex coding discipline. Coders have to take great care in reading provider documentation, be up to date on the latest CPT® coding and CMS policies, and have a solid grasp of anatomy. Keeping track of all these elements can leave coders wondering what steps to take for accurate reporting.
During this 60-minute webinar, Stacie Buck, RHIA, CCS-P, RCC, RCCIR, CIRCC, will address some of the frequently asked questions she receives from coders across the country. She will discuss common issues she sees during audits, with a focus on required documentation to assign diagnostic angiography CPT codes and bundling components. She will also share tips on when it is appropriate to code a diagnostic angiogram at the same time as a therapeutic intervention. The program will be followed by a live Q&A.
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify when it is appropriate to code a diagnostic angiogram at the same time as a therapeutic intervention
- Avoid common CPT code bundling issues
- Recognize required documentation to assign angiography codes
- Distinguish various abdominal angiography procedure codes and determine which is most accurate to report
- Explain when add-on codes may be used with head and neck angiography codes
