Steven S. Wilder, BA, CHSP, STS

Level of Program:

More than ever, hospitals must be ready for events that once were unthinkable. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently revised its emergency preparedness rule, which went into effect in November. This rule requires hospitals to be prepared for emergency situations such as active shooter events, so it is imperative that healthcare staff begin training and preparing now.

During this 90-minute on-demand webinar, expert speaker Steve Wilder, BA, CHSP, STS, will explain how you can comply with the new CMS rule and prepare your staff for any situation. He’ll help attendees understand the key parts of an active shooter plan, go over how staff can improve decision-making skills, and provide tips on controlling staff anxiety and stress during emergency situations.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the four core elements of the revised CMS emergency preparedness rule
  • Explain five key components of an active shooter plan
  • Discuss how staff can develop and use decision-making skills in an emergency
  • Explain how to control staff anxiety and stress during emergency situations
