Wendy Deibert

Wendy Deibert is vice president Telehealth Services with Mercy’s Center for Innovative Care. In her 28 years of nursing, she has served as bedside clinician, manager, senior consultant and operations director. Currently she manages daily operations and supervises the nursing staff and support personnel for Mercy SafeWatch. Since 2006, she has converted 450+ critical care and step-down beds to this electronic ICU technology at 15 hospitals, across 30 units across five states. In 2010, she was selected as a member of the AACN Tele-ICU task force and worked with the group to establish Tele-ICU nursing as a sub-specialty of critical care nursing.  In 2012, she became the recipient of the Philips VISICU Cindy Gregory eXcellence in Leadership Award.

Madan Dharmar, MBBS, PhD.

Dr.  Madan Dharmar is an assistant research professor in the UC Davis Department of  Pediatrics in Sacramento, Calif.  He directs research for UC Davis Health System's Pediatric Telemedicine Program, which was the first of its kind in the United States when it launched in 1998. UC Davis Health System has provided over 34,000 video consultations to remote and rural communities throughout California and beyond. Dr. Dharmar’s research interests focus on telehealth, mHealth, health-care quality, and cost-effectiveness measures. He currently is investigating the impact of telemedicine on the quality of care and cost-effectiveness in rural and/or underserved hospitals in Northern California. Dr. Dharmar has presented at local, regional and national conferences on topics related to quality outcomes and the cost/benefits of telemedicine.
