Presented by: Alba Kuqi, MD, CICA, CCS, CDIP, CCDS, CRCR, CSMC

When it comes to ICD-10-CM reporting and documentation for sepsis, hospitals are continuing to see a slew of denials. A robust clinical validation process and frequent review of ICD-10-CM coding for sepsis can help address this issue. Proper reporting and a clearly documented correlation between organ dysfunction and sepsis can result in overturning a sepsis denial or even preventing a potential denial entirely.

During this 60-minute webinar, Alba Kuqi, MD, CICA, CCS, CDIP, CCDS, CRCR, CSMC, will explain best practices for ICD-10-CM coding and review CDI and query opportunities related to sepsis. She will provide an in-depth review of clinical indicators, classifications, and ICD-10-CM reporting for sepsis. The presentation will be followed by a live Q&A.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Apply the latest ICD-10-CM codes for sepsis diagnoses
  • Describe ICD-10-CM reporting guidelines and their impact on coding for sepsis and related conditions
