This webcast is a companion program to the March cardiovascular diagnosis coding program.During this 90-minute webcast, experts Gerri Walk, RHIA, CCS-P, AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer, and Laura Legg, RHIT, CCS, will explain how to code for inpatient cardiac procedures using ICD-10-PCS coding.

Both speakers will address documentation requirements as well as review cardiac anatomy. They will also provide tips and takeaways to assist inpatient coders in preparation for this new coding system.

Meet the Speakers

Gerri Walk, RHIA, CCS-P, AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer, is the senior manager of technical training for Health Record Services Corporation (HRS) in Baltimore, where she is responsible for developing and maintaining the technical resource content for all remote coding clients. In addition, she serves as the lead trainer for coders onboarding to an established client and new coders onboarding to HRS. Walk has specific expertise in working at large academic and teaching institutions, as well as pediatric services, and expert knowledge in the areas of CPT®, ICD, CPT E/M coding, APCs, and DRGs.

Laura Legg, RHIT, CCS, is the HIM director for Healthcare Resource Group. She has more than 25 years of experience in HIM, including critical access hospitals, large hospitals, and a major health system. Legg is an AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer and is dedicated to assisting coders in learning the new coding system.
