Quality Auditing of Home Health Therapy Documentation: How to Get Beyond a "Yes/No" Checklist - On-Demand
Presented on: September 24, 2015
Presented by: Cindy Krafft, PT, MS; Diana L. Kornetti, PT, MA
This webcast is part of the 2015 Home Health Therapy Documentation Summer Webcast Series. Register for all 3 and SAVE!
At one time or another, your home health agency will be audited. Ensure auditors don’t find negative trends in your documentation that could cost you. Most internal documentation reviews are based off a “yes/no” checklist rather than evaluating the actual quality of documentation provided—an easy way to wind up in trouble. In this 90-minute webcast, experts Cindy Krafft, PT, MS, and Diana L. Kornetti, PT, MA, discuss how agencies can improve their peer review of therapy documentation and use best practices to mirror external audit reviews that can prevent later denials.
At the conclusion of this on-demand program, participants will be able to:
- Identify key elements that contribute to quality therapy documentation
- Utilize a quality auditing tool for review of agency therapy documentation
- Develop strategies for improvement for defensibility of existing documentation
- Strategies for the non-therapist to hone in on critical elements that support medical necessity of therapy services to decrease risk of denial
- Examination of an audit tool option that incorporates key focus areas to ensure ongoing compliance
- Approaches for addressing identified documentation issues
- Q&A (not live)
