AUDIO CONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND
Sponsored by the Briefings on APCs
presented on October 14, 2008
Compliant coding and billing for hospital supplies and durable medical equipment has always been a challenge. Official guidance about what you can report is difficult to locate, and the lines between what is separately chargeable and separately billable are hazy at best.
During this 90-minute audio conference, our speakers clarify what you need to look for when tackling records that involve supplies and equipment. You’ll learn how to recognize items that you can bill separately and those that are integral to procedures. Our speakers explain the nuances of using revenue codes to report supplies and drugs, how and when to report orthopedics L codes, and how to avoid compliance traps (i.e., dispensing durable medical equipment—DME—in the ED).
When you know what to watch for, you will be better able to appropriately charge for supplies and equipment, avoid compliance risk, and ensure your facility receives the reimbursement it is entitled to for every service and procedure.
This is an intermediate-level audio conference. Purchasers should have a basic understanding of billing, coding, and chargemasters.
Take a look at the agenda:
- Integral v. separately billable supplies
- When and when not to charge
- Bundling v. not bundling supplies
