AUDIOCONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND
Sponsored by the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists
presented on April 23, 2008
Clinical documentation improvement (CDI) is the new hot-topic in health information management. But no CDI program can be effective without an effective process for “rounding”—i.e., working the hospital floors and interacting on a day-to-day basis with physicians.
An effective CDI program is one that helps the HIM team cultivate a strong working relationship with physicians and ancillary staff, develop appropriate queries, close them when the needed information is delivered, and track daily work flow. Critical to this success is implementing an organized system of communication between departments and work functions that generate and maintain the documentation that is so imperative to accurate reimbursement under MS-DRGs.
This 90-minute audioconference is your ticket to best practices for a winning CDI program. Our speakers give you the tools and strategies you need to understand efficient methods of reviewing cases, how to work the floors and interact effectively with physicians, and achieve success on a limited budget and time constraints. Our presenters also provide an effective process for working with the HIM/coding staff on a retrospective basis.
