About the Authors

Claudia Baker, RN, MHA, HCS-D, HCS-O, is a senior manager at SimiTree Healthcare Consulting. Baker is a senior home care executive with experience in compliance, quality improvement, and operational management. She has excellent leadership and analytical skills with a solid background in regulatory oversight, process workflows, and direct management for home health, hospice, and private duty settings. Baker has spent 29 of her 37 years in healthcare focusing on home-based services. She is certified in diagnosis coding and OASIS specialties. Her experience in the technology and consulting fields provide her with the tools to educate and support these industries.

Amy Craven, PT, is vice president/owner of C&V Senior Care Specialists, Inc., a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and a certified case manager specializing in geriatric care. For more than 30 years, Dr. Craven has worked in healthcare in both clinical and leadership positions. She has managed and marketed both home health and home care in western New York, serving as an administrator for a national agency. She is dedicated to training and development in dementia/Alzheimer’s and behavioral healthcare and believes that both professional and family caregivers can benefit from knowledge and improve the quality of life for their clients and loved ones.

Katherine Vanderhorst is president and co-founder of C&V Senior Care Specialists, Inc., a board-certified psychiatric nurse with 30+ years of clinical experience in behavioral healthcare and Alzheimer’s care, and a certified care manager. Vanderhorst has been working in home care and home health since 1995 and published two studies on the effectiveness of behavioral health home care. In her 15 years with a national home care provider, she developed behavioral health home care programs for seniors, adults, and children as well as Alzheimer’s and related dementia programs.
