Long-Term Care Administrator’s Virtual Workshop: How QMs Impact Surveys, Payment, and Public Reports

Loyal Listener Library

Presented on:
Tuesday, December 19, 2017
12:00-3:00 p.m. Eastern

Presented by:
Stefanie Corbett, DHA

Level of Program:

Administrators are ultimately responsible for the oversight of facility operations and regulatory compliance, but they depend on staff to carry out everyday decisions. It is critical for administrators to have a sound knowledge of regulations and best practices to ensure effective systems and processes are in place, thereby avoiding poor resident outcomes, survey deficiencies, improper Medicare payments, and poor public report scores.

During this interactive three-hour virtual workshop, Stefanie Corbett, DHA, HCPro’s long-term care regulatory expert and a former nursing home administrator, will give listeners the tools to develop and maintain an ongoing quality improvement program. Participants will learn how to use QM data analysis and how to anticipate surveyor scrutiny, which could yield improved Five-Star Quality Rating System and Nursing Home Compare status, eligibility to participate in an ACO, and greater reimbursement.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the sources of QMs and determine how they impact surveys, payment, and public reports
  • Mitigate risks for survey deficiencies
  • Implement and maintain an ongoing quality improvement program using QM report analysis
  • Improve their Five-Star Quality Rating System and Nursing Home Compare status
