Meet the Speakers

Nena Scott, MSEd, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CCDS, has served as an educator in the healthcare industry across numerous organizations over the past two decades. Her experience includes the creation and implementation of a Registered Health Information Technology program at a community college in Northern Mississippi, where she served as the program director and lead instructor for over a decade. Her current role as director of educational services with TrustHCS includes overseeing the ICD-10 educational offerings. As a professional educator, Scott’s experience spans the wide range of health information topics, including quality improvement, healthcare law, ethics, and billing. She has trained coding staff and served in a management capacity within the HIM department. Scott is an active member of the Research and Periodicals Workgroup of the Council for Excellence in Education with AHIMA and is on the CAHIIM Panel of Accreditation Reviewers. She is a doctoral candidate at Mississippi State University and has been honored with various educator, advisor, and consultant awards.

Christi Roberts, RHIA, CCA, has more than 12 years of experience in health information management. She has had the opportunity to assist many health information departments, large and small, in the areas of operations, coding, education, and auditing. Roberts’ skills span electronic health record implementation, master patient index, operational assessments, revenue cycle management, coding, and auditing. She received her Bachelor of Health Sciences, HIM, from the University of Cincinnati in 2013.
