Thursday, May 19, 2016
Trisha A. Wills, MD, CCS, CPC
ICD-10-PCS introduced an entirely new inpatient procedure coding system, and spinal fusion procedures have become one of its most notable coding challenges. In addition to the anatomical detail, these procedure codes also specify device used, the physician’s approach, and a choice of qualifiers.
Join expert speaker Trisha A. Wills, MD, CCS, CPC, as she discusses how to report spinal fusion procedures. She will detail how providers should be documenting these procedures and when coders or CDI specialists may need to query for more information. She will also review case studies for different spinal fusion scenarios, including those involving multiple vertebral joints.
