Clinical Integration: Driving Alignment and Value in a Physician-Led Clinical Enterprise

Presented on August 20, 2014

Webcast will be shipped in USB drive format.

The 2013 merger of the Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Health was a union of Texas-sized proportions, bringing together 42 hospitals and hundreds of patient care sites generating a combined $6.5 billion in annual revenue. For both organizations, the merger was intended to achieve efficiencies of scale, but their leaders knew those efficiencies could only come with systemwide clinical integration. Despite differing physician and nursing models and EHR systems, Baylor Scott & White Health is making steady progress on clinical integration driven by the Baylor Quality Alliance, an ACO that brings both independent and employed physicians into an integrated delivery model. Now data, quality, and costs are being managed systemwide, enabling the combined company to work toward population health.
