CDI for Quality Boot Camp
When Penn State Hershey Medical Center’s CDI program first started working on quality-related record review opportunities, it focused on Patient Safety Indicators in a retrospective manner. Soon, staff found themselves looking at a host of other measures—observed to expected mortality, length of stay, readmission reduction, and bundled payments, to name a few.
In this special extended 3-hour ACDIS Live! webinar, participants will learn how to focus reviews, amend productivity expectations, and educate physicians through the firsthand experiences of Penn State’s program directors and CDI professionals.
At the conclusion of this ACDIS Live! program, you’ll be able to:
- Define core quality initiatives such as value based purchasing and hospital inpatient quality reporting
- Identify the complex reimbursement implications of value based purchasing
- Identify opportunities for CDI and quality partnerships
- Identify CDI focus areas related to quality concerns
- Develop strategies for provider and staff engagement in quality efforts
- Employ strategies for working across departmental lines
- Define the roles and responsibilities of core team members
- Assess productivity expectations and staffing requirements to meet advanced quality review needs
- Leverage public reporting to demonstrate CDI success
