Meet the Speaker


Lisa RoperLisa Rae Roper, MS, MHA, CCS-P, PCS CPC, CPC-I, PCS, FAHIMA, has 30 years of experience in business management, training program development, coding, and healthcare consulting. She owns an independent consulting firm where she focuses on projects in business management and training with universities, state and local health departments, specialty physician offices, hospital outpatient facilities, and surgical centers. She is a frequent speaker, author, and contributor with many nationally recognized organizations and publications.

Currently, Roper is the coordinator of allied health and safety for the Missoula County Public Schools Adult Education Division, where she develops and supervises training programs and is a lead/mentor instructor. She is an adjunct instructor with the University of Montana and other organizations.

Before going into consulting, Roper was the business office manager for Mercy Integrated Health, an affiliate of Catholic Healthcare West St. Joseph's Hospital in Arizona. This company provided coding, billing, operational, and software management for multispecialty physicians, residents and faculty physicians, and multiple external clients.

Roper holds a fellowship and accreditations with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and is an Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer. She is a member of AHIMA’s Council for Excellence in Education, co-chair of the Workforce workgroup, and co-coordinator for the Montana CSA HIM Awareness Campaign. She previously served on the Faculty Development and Curriculum workgroups and as an ACE member on the Action Community for e-HIM Excellence. Additionally, she is an accredited coder and an approved instructor through the AAPC.

Roper holds a Master of Science in Post-Secondary Adult Education from Capella University, a Master of Science in Health Administration from Kennedy-Western University, and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Grand Canyon University. She also holds a post-graduate certificate in Lean healthcare management from Belmont University’s Massey Graduate School of Business.
